1. Top, what is it?
I had no idea, until I got them myself as a gift
I looked first, what is it?
And then I caressed them🤗
And now I'm worried about them, so that something does not happen to them🙏🍀
Every plant is alive, but this one really looks like a tiny animal, which also needs to be cuddled
2. Where is she from?
The algae come from glacial lakes, mainly from Japan or Iceland.
3. How such a ball is formed?
It all starts with a small stone or a grain of sand, on which the eyelash gradually begins to wrap. By rolling along the bottom of the lake, it gets an evenly round shape.
4. How should I take care of my algae?
It's quite simple. All she needs is clean, cold water and minimal light. Lakes, in which algae live naturally, they are alkaline, so ALWAYS let the water stand. Our tip is to leave it in the fridge overnight and in the morning, when you insert an algae ball into it, will be absolutely ideal – icy and standing. Because they live at the bottom of lakes, they really only need a minimum of light and they will survive in places, on which most plants do not. However, avoid placing the aquarium in direct sunlight.
5. How often should I change her water? And what water he needs?
Ideally once per 10 days. Chilled filtered water is best, earthworm, possibly tap water.
6. That is all?
Born, The algae still needs love and regular stroking. Because in its natural environment it regularly rolls at the bottom of the lake, he needs rolling in your home too. Slowly roll it between your palms each time you change the water (and even more often, but again, don't overdo it). In return, your lashes will remain beautifully round.
7. It needs to be fertilized somehow?
It's not. All, what he needs, gets from water and light. That's why we say about it, that it is probably the least demanding plant in the world.
8. And it grows at all?
It's slow, but yes. The algae grows about half an inch per year.
9. How long will my algae last?
It is officially stated 95 years (we haven't tried it yet), with exemplary care and an optimal environment, the algae sphere is a complete legacy. The largest and oldest algae in the world has more than 200 years and almost a meter wide!
10. She won't be sad, when I buy only one?
It won't. He does have you! In any case, you can grow more algae balls at once in the aquarium.
11. How long does it last without water?
The algae will last without water for up to two weeks, then she would not recover. So with her as soon as possible after shopping for the aquarium.
12. I should have it at home in an open or closed aquarium?
It's up to you, The algae will thrive equally in both cases.
13. What if my algae floats on the surface?
Your algae will spend most of their lives at the bottom of the aquarium, exactly, as if it were in its original environment – at the bottom of the lake. However, like any plant, it performs photosynthesis, in which oxygen is formed. These oxygen bubbles can cause, that it will occasionally float to the surface. You can help her get back to the bottom by squeezing, but we do not recommend it – algae are the happiest, when you let them swim and fall according to yourself.
14. It can reproduce?
Yes, in the natural environment, the sphere can multiply by division, when it falls apart and can become two new ones. However, we do not recommend multiplying it by forcible division into halves. It happens too often, that the new ball will not catch and the old will perish.
15. I can do something, to make the algae grow faster?
Be patient, algae grow really very slowly, only half an inch per year. The better the conditions, this will, of course, do better, so pay attention to the lowest possible temperature and water quality. More light means faster growth, so a few hours of sunshine can help her. But do not leave it under any circumstances “cook” in direct sunlight.
16. Help, the ball changed color – what with this?
Yellow or brown algae is a diseased algae. Either he gets too much light, has an infection or too low a water quality. We recommend washing the algae under running water, replace it with water and add a little salt. Aquarium, not table here! You can find it in every good pet shop. Add it to the aquarium in proportion 5 % salt on 95 % water.
17. My lashes fell apart, what with this?
We're so sorry, but the ball can no longer be saved after disintegration. Under ideal conditions, it is possible to try to grow more after disintegrating from the algae into smaller balls. But it requires regular care and enough patience.
18. He will survive in an aquarium with small fish?
Definitely yes! Algae is very popular among aquarists.
19. I can transport it on the road?
The algae will survive without water for up to two weeks, so you don't have to worry, that she would not survive a flight or a train journey. Take it in your backpack soaked and without water in a waterproof bag. A possible problem is the transport of plants. It is prohibited in many countries, and if you travel to Asia or America, we recommend that you check with your carrier in advance. But Europe is most likely without a problem.
This is just algae sphere, live algae plant
I RECOMMEND, IT'S A GREAT GIFT 💯
Thank you Nicolca & Jarmile & Marušce🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏
