LOM U Marian mill – flooded limestone quarry and a natural swimming pool in Pálava
I will miss the sunny Croatian bays? As a small, but still an acceptable substitute I want to show you this beautiful natural phenomenon of a beautiful quarry near Mikulov 🙂 .
Its elongated flooded crater with high bands of limestone rock walls above the water surface directly evokes the atmosphere of one of the Adriatic resorts.
Of course it's the best, visit this place on a beautiful sunny day 🙂 . This place represents the most beautiful natural swimming pool in Pálava, but it is not an official public swimming pool, but for a tolerated occasional bathing place, mass recreation would lead to the closure of this quarry with a ban on swimming and that would be a shame. The water here is crystal clear thanks to the limestone. The beach is stony, it is followed by a shallow area several meters long, which suddenly passes into great depth. Accessibility around the quarry is good, it is possible to follow the blue trail, and you can go to the quarry by train to Mikulov, and car parking is right next to the quarry. It's a tip for a really nice trip here in the Czech Republic!
