The first two competition days in Rio are behind us … unexpected successes came for Czech athletes, but also minor setbacks.
POSITIVE EMOTIONS were experienced last night by tennis players LUCIE ŠAFÁŘOVÁ AND BARBORA STRÊCOVÁ, which defeated the seeded Williams sisters in the doubles.
PETRA KVITOVÁ also goes on, which won handily 2:0 over the opponent from Hungary.

On to tennis – unfortunately, the Czech men's pair Štěpánek/Rosol failed to advance, who were eliminated from the doubles competition in the first round.
The same fate met the world number one NOVAK DJOKOVIC in singles, which was not enough for the Argentine opponent.
The beach volleyball players already fought in their first match on Saturday evening – Sluková and Hermannová, they played one set against the home Brazilians, overall, however, they succumbed 2:1. However, their performance is a great promise for the future and we will keep our fingers crossed 🙂
Other Czech athletes fight in the qualifications of their disciplines, so far they are doing well and advancing to the next fights 🙂
